A crisp edge is the difference between a maintained landscape and a neglected one. Permanent edging eliminates the weekly battle with grass creeping into beds, keeps mulch where it belongs, and gives the landscape a defined, intentional look that adds to property value.

We install three types of permanent edging depending on the aesthetic and budget: aluminum strip edging for a clean modern look, concrete curbing for a decorative raised border, and natural stone for properties that want an organic feel.

What’s included

Aluminum Edging

Commercial-grade aluminum strip installed at grade. Holds any curve, stays in place, never rusts. The most durable option for most residential beds.

Concrete Curbing

Poured-in-place decorative curbing in multiple profiles (mower, single slant, double slant). Permanent, HOA-friendly.

Natural Stone Edging

Fieldstone, limestone, and river rock borders for a naturalistic look. Works well in cottage-style and native gardens.

Bed Redefinition

Re-cutting overgrown or undefined bed edges back to a crisp, straight or flowing line. Often combined with mulch installation.

Tree Ring Edging

Clean circular rings around palms and specimen trees. Keeps lawn equipment away from trunks and defines the mulch zone.

Driveway & Path Edging

Defining the border between lawn and hardscape for a clean transition. Works alongside pavers or concrete.

FAQ

Common questions

What is the most durable edging for Florida landscapes?+

Commercial aluminum edging is the most durable for most beds – it handles Florida’s soil movement without cracking and holds any curve without kinking.

How much does landscape edging cost in Sarasota?+

Aluminum edging runs $3-$5 per linear foot installed. Concrete curbing runs $8-$14 per linear foot. Natural stone borders vary – typically $12-$20 per linear foot.

Does concrete curbing work in Florida’s sandy soil?+

Yes, with proper installation. We prepare the base correctly so the curbing doesn’t heave or settle.

Can you redefine bed edges that have become overgrown?+

Yes – this is one of our most common requests on older properties. We use a bed edger to cut a clean line, remove the sod intrusion, and install permanent edging to hold the line going forward.

Is edging HOA-compliant?+

All of the edging types we install are compatible with typical HOA landscaping standards.
